Purple is dominant over white. So a purple plant with result with a phenotype of PP or Pp?

What do you do 2 determine if the purple flower is PP or Pp? Do you self pollinate them?

Purple is dominant over white. So a purple plant with result with a phenotype of PP or Pp?
determined by test mating

mating with white plant (recessive)

if PP will result in all purple progney 100%

if Pp will result in both phenotypes purple and white

or self mating will lead to presence of white in progney if Pp
Reply:to determine if its PP orPp, u have to cross pollinate it with a homozygous white plant (pp).

if it has PP phenotype,

PP*pp= Pp, Pp, Pp, Pp ......all the ofsprings will be purple

if it has Pp phenotype,

Pp*pp= Pp, Pp, pp,pp..... 2 offsprings will be purple while 2 will be white.
Reply:they are telling you purple is dominat so it'd be PP. white would be pp. phenotype purple is Pp.
