Do you think a purple color and daisies are appropriate for a fall wedding?

I'm getting married 10/10/09. My favorite color is purple and my favorite flowers are dasies. I know these things are normally associated with spring, but do you think if I stick to darker hues it would still be appropriate?

Do you think a purple color and daisies are appropriate for a fall wedding?
Of course, use whatever colors you want. I don't think that people will really be at your wedding thinking "wow, dasies are a spring flower."
Reply:The purple is okay but I don't think the daises will work unless you can find some that are a bit darker in color. Depending on where you are, October may still be very warm. If so, if your dress is light enough in fabric and texture, you might get away with it. But the bottom line is, it's your wedding and if that's what you want. My best advice - actually look at the daises with the dress. Seeing them together may change your mind. Also consider how formal your dress is. If your wedding is informal, the color of the dress won't matter. If the wedding is formal, daises will look like you decided to skimp on the flowers. (Sorry). But if your heart is truly set on it, just play with the shades of the flowers until you find something that works.
Reply:There are no rules anymore. Take a look at Mother Nature. Fall and winter are usually associated with dark colors for attire. Dartk purple is found year round in nature. I think daisies are strictly spring/summer flowers since they don't bloom in fall or winter. Even then you would have difficulty having them imported. You need to talk to a florist to see what is in season at that time. But there is no rule you can't have them.
Reply:Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I used daisies in my bouquet many years ago in the fall as they are my favorite flower too!

That said....YES, you most certainly can use dark purple and daisies. I would assume that you will be having the bridesmaids in a dark purple dress. Were you thinking of the regular type of daisies like these?:

OR...were you more thinking of the larger daisies (Gerbera daisies) like this?:

You could choose either. The regular ones would look nice (in white) against the purple dresses. OR, you could do the Gerbera daisies in white OR yellow!

Yellow would really make things stand out. Yellow is directly opposite purple on the color wheel:

so....that means that it would be a good color. As far as contrasts, you want a color directly opposite on the color wheel.

Whatever you choose, I'm sure they will be beautiful!
Reply:Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Use the colors you like, regardless of season. Use the flowers you like, regardless of season, unless those flowers are prohibitively expensive. If it's your favorite color and flowers, it's appropriate for YOUR wedding regardless of what anyone else thinks.
Reply:Purple works anytime of the year. I love daisies too, but I don't know how well they would work since they are a spring and summer flower. I thik they would look pretty, you may just have to pay extra to get them since they are out of season.
Reply:you can use the fall colored daisies, but I don't think they will go very well with purple. Either do purple, or do fall colors, but not both.

Actually, you might be able to find purple daisies.
Reply:Do whatever you want! You don't have to go with the season if you don't want to. If you want it to look more like fall, you could have dark purple as your main color and have the center of the daisies dyed dark purple to match.
Reply:It's your wedding, if anyone has a problem with that, tell them to deal with it.

I'd say go with a darker purple if your concerned over whether or not its a fall color.
Reply:i think the contrast of a darker purple with the white daises would be just beautiful. good luck and congrats!
Reply:Its your wedding, do exactly what you feel like doing. I wouldn't mix themes, but just do what makes you happy.
Reply:I think it would be fine. The day is all about you and you should have your favorite things! =] Good luck!
Reply:It's fine if that's what you want, but it might be hard to find purple flowers in October. Talk to your florist about it.
Reply:if you do like a rusty purple color...like Plum @ David's Bridal is great.
Reply:YES.

DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY=]
Reply:Yup, sure do
Reply:how about trying a dark shade of purple daisy.
