if you can put a pic up on here so we can see it.
Reply:When the boys picked them, they prevented any possiblity of growing. The plants need roots and leaves to grow,
Reply:They are flowers -CMON! Water, some sunlight.
Reply:Awwww....how sweet of him to bring you flowers! Check the web and ask a search engine for flowers native for the state you are in. Hopefully, when you figure out what kind they are, you can get more so he thinks they are still alive (if they have died).

Good luck! Hold on to those treasured moments and gifts, and definitely take pictures when they first bring them home.
Reply:just stick them in water change the water every day and then cut an inch off every week
Reply:Don't start a new post, come back to your original post and edit it here.

Then go delete the other posing.
Reply:Sounds like their dead.

Take a picture, it will last longer.
Reply:Without a picture of the plant, I cannot identify it. There are way too many red and purple flowers. try this site:

Reply:They sound like they might have spent some time in your boys' pocket on the ride home from the field trip, LOL. I think these flowers are beyond saving, but it was sweet of them to bring something back for you, huh? Just do what I used to do when I was working in a kindergarten- take their sweet gift, say, "Thank you so much!!" and don't mention it again. They have pretty short attention spans and will forget all about the flowers in a couple hours.
