Who knows the name of a purple-flowered plant I thought was archiminius?

It's a cutting from a friend and it's lovely but I want to know how to propogate and how to care for it in the winter.

Achimenes. Gesneriaceae. This is a perennial. It is a Native to tropical America. Related to the African Violet and Gloxinia family. They require shde outdoors but bright light indoors and regular water. Most tender and mostly grown in pots. When grown in beds is normally used as a ground cover. They are grown from rhizomes so you would most likely need to get one of these from your friend in the fall when they are lifted. I do not know where you live but in most areas they will freeze if not lifted and stored through the winter and replanted in the spring. Just enjoy the cutting you have and tell your friend to give you a start of the rhizome this fall. You can store it in a a cool dry place over winter and plant it in the spring. I normally store mine bulbs and rhizomes in dry peat in tubs layered with newspaper through the winter. Just label it so you know what they are.

Reply:first you need a detail description of the plant or at least give the correct name of the plant that you thought it was (there're no archiminius plant) Then we might be able to help.
Reply:if it looks like a purple daisy, with the petals going toward the stem sounds like purple corn flower , but don't hold me to it!
