What kind of flowers are these?

Do you know what kind of flowers these are? Both of purple flowers and the white flowers. Thank you!!!

What kind of flowers are these?
A shot of the leaves would really help identify both of these flowers.





I think the purple flowers are Dames Rocket (Hesperis matronalis L.). Someone else suggested Garden Phlox, but the stamens in Phlox are not yellow/green.





The white flowers looks a bit like a snapdragon. Without seeing the back of the flower, and the size of the flower it's hard to tell.

The white one looks like Nemesia fruticans (a white form) or a new hybrid Nemesia, it's a little hard to tell from the picture but I'm pretty certain:

EDIT: I agree with sailinshoes, it's hard to identify for certain without seeing the leaves. Hesperis and Snapdragon are good calls too.


I still do think that the purple one is Erysimum and not Hesperis because of 2 things: 1) Erysimum flowers up the stalk and once the flowers are spent, they drop and leave the tiny stem as is evident in your photo, 2) Erysimum has a yellow center and Hesperis does not.


In regards to the white one, I did ponder snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus) too-which it could very well be. I went with Nemesia because in the photo it looks like the flowers are more clustered and that is reminiscent of Nemesia. Snapdragons flower on a stalk.





Again, this is just my opinion. Seeing the foliage, more of the flower and measurement of the flower would help a lot. At any rate, you have some good answers to investigate further.

but if it's not some sort of a geranium mix. Best too look it up in an Encylopedia of Flowers.
