What are the purple colored flowers called that like to grow on a hill and near rocks?

Vinca ...perriwinkle plant? Ground cover that blooms in the spring.

What are the purple colored flowers called that like to grow on a hill and near rocks?
could it be the echinacea purpurea or purple coneflower ?

Reply:There's quite a few of them. Grape hyacinth, Blue squill are two that are coming to mind. Both are good for hills, naturalizing, as well as rock gardens.
