Any ideas for purple flowers in a October wedding?

I used silk flowers also. We were on a tight budget so my future mom in law and I made the flower arrangements. we used silk hydrangeas, lilies and lilacs. We used different shades of purple and lavender ribbons to tie it all together. For the men's boutonniere's we used a white rose with a purple ribbon back ground. the men wore gray tuxes with lavender cummerbunds. the brides maids wore dresses in shades of purple. It looked really nice.

Reply:Purple is also colour used in healing therapies, so I would think it would be great to have purple flowers as you set out on your Union of souls.

Reply:Go to Search Yahoo! Answers and type in purple flowers. There are several excellent answers there.
Reply:One option could to be use purple leaves in the bouquet and arrangements if you want that colour theme but flowers are hard to get hold of. One of the blessings of having an autumn wedding are all the beautiful colours provided by nature.
Reply:Lilac roses they have to imported in but they are absolutely gorgeous
Reply:Iris' are very beautiful, and a blue-violet type shade.

Reply:Look into purple callow (sp) lillies. They are awesome if in season.
Reply:Pansies, and they are edible as-well . I was surprised with an incredible birthday cake once given to me by my best friend. He had the cake made for me, the chef put gorgeous Pansy's on it. We ate the Pansy's to. Always thought it would be awesome to do a wedding with them, you could put them in drinks and (saw it on a movie they were rose buds) they come in all shades of colors,They can be ordered or you could have them grown for you, What a unique way to do it, what do you think? Congratulations on the up-coming event
Reply:just about any flower that is shown as blue will actually look purple, so you have a TON of flowers to choose from (those shown as purple AND those shown as blue).

I personally love orchids and sweet peas.

Reply:Best to ask a florist...it depends on your location...many flowers are no longer in bloom that late in the season (fall) and could be really expensive and leaving a lot to chance if they have to be shipped from somewhere else. Talk to a good florist!
