It has purple flowers when it was blooming. The stalk is still green. I was wondering if the stalk needs to be cut off or left alone? The leaves on the plant are thin and green like blades of grass, but obviously thicker.
What type of bromeliad has a flowering stalk that is flat and kind of shaped like a beaver's tail?
Never cut the flower stalk on any variety of bromeliad. Let it die of its own accord, then cut it back. The plant uses enormous energy to produce the flower stalk and will "reclaim" it from the spent stalk, if allowed to do so. Your plant will flower again much sooner if you'll let nature take its course.

What time of year does budlia flower?
I think it's called that. It's a bush with spears of tiny purple flowers and butterflies love it.
What time of year does budlia flower?
Another month or so - approx
Reply:Mid to late summer. Mine haven't started to flower yet here in the west of England but there are small buds developing
Reply:Depends which type it is. I have one in bloom at the moment, which is a smaller variegated one.The larger variety will bloom in July...
Reply:Depends. There is the Golden Ball Buddleia, which usually flowers in around May in the UK, and the purple/pink sorts, in August.
Reply:it depends on where you are, I live in Southern California and mine started blooming in May and I will have blooms up till the new year. then I cut them all the way back to about a foot. and it comes back with a vengeance in the spring
Reply:you may have mispelled it,But usually the flower time is depend on
Reply:Its called Butterfly bush, it'll bloom in 2-3 weeks.

Flowers for stencilling- What simple-to-draw flowers compliment strands of ivy?
The thing is, I painted the ivy already up top in the room. So, I'm looking for a dainty little flower... Morning Glories may do (I'm not a huge flower person, but I'd like to be authentic)... but I'm using purple or maybe dusty rose (color) in the room.
Any simple flower that looks good with ivy will do!
Thanks!

Another vining flower that lends itself to stenciling are the clematis. I think the viticellas or the texensis would be the ones to look at first. 'Gravetye Beauty' or 'My Angel'

The Wisteria Stencil would be nice if you're using purple.
The Mini Roses Stencil or morning glory would be simpler.

I have baby breath, How do i dye it Purple?
I want the flowers to look like nothing else can you help me get it to a very dark purple
I have baby breath, How do i dye it Purple?
Getting something to dye a dark color is hard especially if it is starting out white. I would suggest taking spray paint and spraying the Baby's breath. I would also like to recommend using Purple Limonium or Purple Statice instead. These are very unique fillers that are already purple and wouldnt have to be dyed.
Reply:Get food coloring in the color you want and put it in the water. It will change the flower's color. This is how they make green carnations for St Patrick's day.
Reply:you can put in a glass with food coloring and water and within a few minutes to hours or till they are your desired hue

Looks like a purple 4 leaf clover-what type of plant is this?
I have a houseplant that I have never seen before, don’t know the name of, and would like some information on. The leaves are a dark burgundy/purple color and resemble a four leaf clover. The stems are a pale whitish color and tend to be very long and delicate enough to snap easily if mishandled. I haven’t noticed any flowers or signs that it will flower yet and I have had it for about 2-3 months. It grows fairly rapidly, with additional sprouts coming from under the soil so I am assuming it splits from the roots. It was given to me by my boyfriend’s mother but she doesn’t remember the name either. It seems to be doing ok, though I am a bit concerned that it may need a deeper pot because of the length of the stems-they are at least 3-5 inches long, and as I mentioned, are very delicate and likely to snap. If nothing else I would like to know the name of this lovely plant but if someone could even point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oxalis is correct, and if it is looking delicate, with really long stems you need to give it more light. Oxalis will grow in full sun or in shade outdoors, but really needs bright light or a sunny window indoors if you want it to bloom and not get leggy.
Reply:Sounds like a hybrid species of the Oxalis (Clover) family. Try johnnyseeds.com to see if they can match your description.
Good luck!
Reply:It could be a type of shamrock plant

My purple shamrock seems lifeless after a rigorous resent sprouting and flowering in the house.?
i open the blinds in the morning so they receive the morning easterly Michigan sun. Whats happening?
My purple shamrock seems lifeless after a rigorous resent sprouting and flowering in the house.?
Might be it needs a rest. Mine has been dormant all winter and is just now starting to come alive. Don't water it, let it die back and then start watering it again in about a month. They are bulbs, you don't want them to rot. Good luck!
