Purple Flowers?

My wedding colors are purple(victorian lilac), silver and white, what type of flowers would go well? Pics would be helpful! Thanks!

Purple Flowers?
A lot of it will depend on your budget.

Lavender roses are beautiful - but they can get a little pricey. Lavender larkspur is also very nice and looks lovely paired with white calla lilies.

Here are a few pictures that might help:

White Mini-Callas, Lavender Larkspur, White Roses, Million Star, Italian Ruscus

You can wrap any of these with some silver ribbon and they will look lovely together.

I really love your colors. There is so much that you can do with it.

I hope that this helps! Good luck!!! ♥
Reply:Purple flowers include roses, calla lilies, hydrangea, phlox, asters, lisianthus, dianthus, carnations, dendrobium orchids, alstroemeria, mums, delphinium, irises. You could also use white flowers, or even a very soft pink. If you can find blue flowers, that might also look nice.

A florist can help you out. If you want photos (and/or need to order them yourself), try www.theflowerexchange.com.

Here's a really pretty example from Real Simple Magazine, that was put together with supermarket flowers: http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple/pho...

Do a Google image search for "purple bouquets" as well.

You can also use white flowers (calla lillies, daisies, roses, etc.) and just tie a purple/lavendar ribbon on them to match the bridesmaid dresses.

Reply:If you cannot find the color you are looking for, buy some white flowers and spray them with spray paint. The only spray paint you can use with silk flowers is Design Master. You can find Design Master in Michael's and AC Moore.

If my color scheme is light purple what type of flowers should be in my bouquet?

for my wedding my color scheme is light purple. for the flowers in my bouquet and everywhere else I'm either thinking white roses or violets which one of any other suggestions?

If my color scheme is light purple what type of flowers should be in my bouquet?
Freesia, french lavender, lavender roses,
Reply:Pansies are cute. Also Bluebells (which can come in a lavender shade), Lillacs, etc.

The faux flowers they are making out of a velvet material are gorgeous now a days.
Reply:hydragnas would be absolutely beautiful, especially if you got a mix of the pastel purples and blues. It would be very simple but classy.
Reply:im getting married in october and my scheme is champagne and purple so my florest came up with a brilliant idea,

Since im scottish my hubby-to-be is wearing the Scotland The Brave tartan and the bridesmaids are in the purple to match the kilts (my dress is champagne)

so my bouquet is going to be champagne flowers with scotland the brave tartan bows throught the flowers, in the place of any other flowers just ribbon bows!

Ive already seen it and it is gorgeous

My bridesmaids are getting the opposite of myself where thiers will be purple with champagne bows

hope this helps and congratulations on your wedding!
Reply:id say white roses and a couplke of violets so it looks more complete
Reply:small white lilies? Lilacs!!
Reply:lilacs....fragrant and lovely

light purple tulips and roses...
Reply:There are light lavender colored roses, if you like roses. They look very pretty, especially mixed in with white or ivory roses.

Go to this link and hit the side link that says Luscious lavender

Reply:Light purple is one of my colors as well and I'm having the same problem I think white roses and some freesia would be beautiful but freesia is a little bit expensive you could always go with white roses and maybe a light purple ribbon. Good Luck!
Reply:How about white carnations tipped in purple or lavender?
Reply:light pink will be kool.
Reply:I'd go with the white roses with a hint of a few violets This should blend in nicely with the light purple scheme. don't forget a bit of babies breath.
Reply:You can order purple roses and maybe add a little touch of hydranga!!
Reply:SO many combinations available.

White would be pretty, or champagne colors (slightly off white!?)

Also, I've seen a lot of bright blues and pinks too. Depends on how MUCH color you want to add :-)
Reply:white or light purple orchids
Reply:When I got married, my theme was purple. I used spring bouquet's in my wedding. I carried lite purple roses. My sister carried a bouquet of spring flowers. U could use white and yellow gerber daisy's or purple roses like I had.
Reply:White lilies

My little pet mice LOVE to eat these cute little purple flowers that I pick from my backyard. What are they?

There are lots of purple flowers and mice eat most anything so your question is very difficult to answer. Can you describe the flowers or the plant they come from a bit?

why is that the best answer??!!

Why are the vines of my moon flower purple?

I have moon flower plans, Ipomoea Alba. And I collected seeds form one and planted them. The seeds came up beautiful but with one problem, the vine and leaves have a purple color. The vines are completely a rich purple and the veins in the leaves are purple as well. I am wondering if they are some sort of hybrid or something, or perhaps there is something too rich, or lacking for that matter in the soil. Will they still produce the beautiful white flowers?

Why are the vines of my moon flower purple?
Glenn is correct. The "Alba" is a hybrid; seeds from hybrid plants very often do not appear the same as the plant you collected them from.

I've experienced this with the "Heavenly Blue" hybrid of convolulus (morning glory). It reseeded itself, and the following years all those seedlings produced nondescript purple flowers.

Best to purchase new plants or seeds year to year, Hon.
Reply:the hybrid=cultivar was the 'alba'=white. the seeds reverted to the parent plant. no
Reply:Is there a chance that the seed might not have been labeled correctly? The plant/vine you describe sounds similar to a purple hyacinth bean vine. You might just have to wait until it blooms to find your answer.

Wedding colors-Purple & Red; Guys-black suit, red shirt, purple tie; Girls, purple dresses carring red flowers

Me (bride) Ivory dress with possiable purple accents, carring red and purple flowers. Groom-black suit, white shirt with purple/red boutiener. Is this way off or workable?

Wedding colors-Purple %26amp; Red; Guys-black suit, red shirt, purple tie; Girls, purple dresses carring red flowers
It sounds a little off, but if you like the colors I'm sure you can make it work. Maybe add a neutral color to the mix like black for instance.. Or maybe do a very deep purple in the flowers and a deeper red. In my mind I'm imagining you're talking almost royal purple and a bright red. I think if you go with deeper colors it will really look fantastic.

Congratulations on your wedding. When is the date?
Reply:way off
Reply:Way off! Pick red OR purple. Not both. Just don't.
Reply:Purple only. It is to close to Christmas for red.
Reply:the red shirt and purple is a NO! I would try maybe a white shirt with a red tie. Girls wear a red dress and then use purple as the accent...

However.. deep gold and purple look awsome together. Have the guys wear all black with purple/ gold flowers. and the girls wear purple dresses w/ the same flowers....
Reply:Have the groomsmen wear white shirts with either a red or purple tie.
Reply:its definetly workable. Red and Purple are complamentary colors. Congrats!
Reply:mabey you should get ur dress wiht pink actents lke a lite color and ur flowers should be pink nd white the groom is good an dthe brieds mates should be carring white flowers to much red! guys should where red
Reply:too much going on there. keep it simple with the guys colors, white shirt with purple tie and red boutiener, purple for the girls is good with red flowers also.
Reply:I like it! I know I'm not agreeing with the general concensus but I'm guessing you love those colours and can't imagine a brighter, more festive colour scheme for your wedding.

Go for it! Sometimes it pays to be a little bit daring - good luck!
Reply:I gotta say it... Red Hat Society???
Reply:Your kidding , ?

Aren't you ??

WAY OFF !!!!!!
Reply:UHMMM, no way, you will look like your going to a Red Hat Society meeting.

Reply:A dusty rose and claret (dark red purple) would look better...
Reply:I think a rich red and a rich purple are both lovely colours but together would lose the impact. I fear you would end up with a dark mish-mash where neither colour would stand out well.

With either colour, you may want the guys in grey suits with white shirts so that the colour of the tie really stands out. Or have the vest in your colour but a black tie.
Reply:way off purple red and black? sounds either pimpish or elvis or elvis as a pimp

non of those sound very nice

two strong colors like red and purple are just going to be gaudy pick one of the other or my opinion neither

good luck
Reply:I have seen it done and it is workable but you have to make sure you pick the right reds and purples or else it can be overwhelming. I would stick with a basic whtie or ivory shirt and have a red and purple tie or a purple tie with red flower or vice versa. Its workable you jst have to find the right colors.
Reply:Hi. I must agree with the others. I don't like red and purple together. Pick one or the other.

Guys in a red shirt with purple tie -- eek!

If you want purple....go with a soft complimentary color like a real light lavendar (for the girls flowers).

For the guys - black tux with a white shirt and lavendar tie.

If you want red...then just go with red, white and black.

Good luck!
Reply:i think it sounds hot!! BUT only if you're talking about shades of red and purple. and not bright red and purple. If you pair a nice dark burgendy or wine red shade with a light lilac or lavender purple. That'd be HOT! Or perhaps a light pink or lighter shade of red and a dark violet, purple, or maroon... that'd be nice too! If you're talking about straight up Crayola Red and Purple... yeah.. thats gonna be bright and ugly.
Reply:What I really don't like is red shirts w/purple ties. Some guys should be red shirts %26amp; ties and the rest should be purple shirts %26amp; ties. That way they look nice regardless of the wedding colors. I think the groom should wear a black tie and a red bouttonier. Bride's dress ivory carrying purple and red flowers.

Debbie
Reply:Way off!!! I'd cut out a purple or a red some where - or at least substitute it with a less contrasting color!
Reply:It is workable, but lets tone down the red. Go with a dusty pink, and a purple in a dark blue. You want it to flow.
Reply:It's possible but you might give yourself a ton of headaches trying to make it work. It may not look as great as you think when you get all the pieces together though. I wouldn't think that the red tie on a purple shirt would look all that great. Sorry.
Reply:ugh. start with white and work off of it.
Reply:have you ever heard of the "red hat society"??? (google it if you haven't) that is what your wedding reminds me of. please, seriously take that into consideration.
Reply:Purple is a power color. I wouldn't associate it with a wedding. Spring colors, indicate fresh new life, fertility, etc.

Purple has an intimidating effect on people psychologically. I think the purple and red will clash visually. Just have one intense color, if any. Red and purple together? Too much psychological intensity I think, even if they do somehow go together visually. It's your day though, totally, and I'm sure everyone will want to accomodate you however you want it on your very special and important day.
Reply:Errr...sounds kind of loud. Maybe it would be prettier if I were looking at the colors together. I have never seen in a wedding done in purple and red. Good luck with that.
Reply:Wouldn't be very pretty. Why purple and red?

Hey does anyone know what these purple flowers are called? Their next to the girl's feet in the picture?

It is called 'Tiny purple' flower. They are really wonderful.

PS: These flowers have all gone by now, but they sure were delightful back in June.
Reply:Yep, they're Allium. They're a bulb. They bloom late spring/ early summer. Many different varieties. Most are real tall. The one's in your pic are a shorter type.
Reply:Allium. They are in the onion family.
